By the 1976 Spanish GP, the Williams-Wolf team were running 2 cars, one for Jacky Ickx and the other for Michel Leclere.
Ickx finished 7th in the race, from 21st on the grid and Leclere finished 10th.There were the best results for the team in 1976.
Modifications to the car unfortunatly made it less competitive and after not qualifying in Belgium, Monaco and Great Britain and a 10th place finish in France, Ickx left to join the Ensign team.
Arturo Merzario became the principal driver from the German GP Onwards.
