lntroduced in 1967 and comprehensively tested by rising star Jonathan Williams, the
beautifully balanced Dino 166F2 only raced once that year.
For the 1968 F2 championship the cars were driven by 9 different drivers, both "graded" and
"ungraded", only the latter being eligible for championship points, they were:­
Andrea de Adamich, Chris Amon, Giancarlo Baghetti, Derek Bell, lino Brambilia, Mario
Casoni, Jackie lckx, Brian Redman and Clay Regazzoni.
A single 2.4 litre version, designated 246T, was taken home to New Zealand by works F1 driver Chris
Amon, with just one mechanic, to finish runner-up in the 1968 Tasman series.
He returned with a 2-car team the following year, with second driver Derek Bell, to take the
1969 Tasman Championship.
Meanwhile Andrea de Adamich was winning the Temporada series in Argentina driving a
166F2 aiongside lino Brambilla.
Finally Graeme Lawrence won the 1970 Tasman championship in a much-modified version of the ex Amon
246T.
